Cellular
Telephone
Rentals
was one
of the
first
cellular
rental
services
in Costa
Rica,
coming
about
from the
need of
foreigners
visiting
Costa
Rica
wanting
to stay
in touch
with
family,
friends
and
business,
but not
being
able to
connect
to the
local
cellular
network
who
required
residency
or
citizenship.
This was
also a
time
that
international
roaming
was not
available
in Costa
Rica.
Many our
first
customers
came to
us with
their
cell
phones
that
could
not be
used in
Costa
Rica
under
any
circumstances.
Starting
with
only 10
cellular
phones,
the
company
grew
leaps
and
bounds
in a
matter
of
months,
battling
with the
Instituto
Costarricense
de
Electricidad
(ICE) -
the
state
telecom
and sole
provider
of
cellular
service
in Costa
Rica -
to
obtain
more
lines.
Our
efforts
paid
off.
We've
come a
long way
since
then.
However,
our
success
can be
attributed
to one
thing,
our
customers.
Customers
who
believed
in us to
deliver
them top
notch
service
and at
an
affordable
price.
Some of
those
customers
are
still
with us
today.
From the
start we
offered
customers
a "ONE
PRICE
PLAN"
and a NO
HIDDEN
FEES, NO
HIDDEN
CHARGES
policy,
taking
out the
guesswork
of what
each
call
would
cost
or
having
to mind
minutes
to keep
costs
low.
Today,
we are
still
working
under
that
same
policy.
With
free
delivery
and pick
up at
the San
José
airport
or area
hotels,
free
incoming
local
and
international
calls,
free
outgoing
local
calls,
free
voicemail,
free
text
messaging
(local
and
international)
and
direct
dialing
for all
international
calls,
we
continue
to be
the best
option
for
renting
a
cellular
telephone
in Costa
Rica.
And if
that is
wasn't
all, we
also
provide
our
customers
with
their
telephone
number
before
leaving
for
Costa
Rica to
give to
their
friends,
family
and
business
contacts
and
billing
for
actual
minutes
used for
placing
international
calls
taken
from the
local
phone
company
reports
and not
from the
cellular
telephone
unit, we
continue
to beat
out the
competition
every
time.
When we
started
out it
was
unthinkable
of a
cellular
rental
service.
We were
pioneers.
Since
then
everyone
and his
neighbour
has
offered
a rental
phone,
some
taking
advantage
of
visitors,
taking a
"one
time
hit"
attitude,
some
offering
a a free
phone
rental,
but then
hitting
hard on
minutes,
while
others,
well
they
gouged
and
gouged.
Some
still
do.
We know
this
because
many of
those
customers
are now
our
customers.
